Pet Story

Our handsome Rocco has been in foster for a few weeks now and is settling in really well! He's a lively, energetic, playful boy with a big personality and lots of potential. He's still learning his manners, so we're looking for someone experienced who can give him the guidance, patience and consistency he needs. WHAT WE KNOW ABOUT ROCCO: 💙 People: Generally friendly and loves attention, although he can get overexcited, jump up and be a little mouthy (without biting). 💙 Dogs: Has generally been sociable, although some barking at other dogs has been observed. Further assessment is needed. 💙 Walks: Loves getting out but is extremely strong on the lead. He needs ongoing lead training and recall work. 💙 Training: Knows sit, wait and paw. Waits nicely for food, has shown no food guarding and can leave toys when asked. 💙 Home life: Can counter-surf, chew shoes and slippers, and bark at people passing. He sometimes struggles to switch off but has been brilliant sleeping in his crate overnight! 💙 Other things: Can be unsure of car journeys, dislikes the hoover and isn't keen on having a harness put on. These will need patient, positive training. ROCCO'S IDEAL HOME: 🐾 Experienced, confident owners. 🐾 An active home committed to training and enrichment. 🐾 Preferably an adult-only home, with no young children due to his strength and excitable nature. 🐾 A patient, understanding family who can provide structure and help him learn to settle. 🐾 Any potential home with other dogs would need further assessment. 💙 Rocco isn't a perfectly trained dog, but he's a lovely boy with so much potential. He just needs someone willing to put in the time, help him learn and give him the loving forever home he deserves. Could you be Rocco's person?
