Originating in Turkey, he faced two life-altering challenges early on: contracting distemper, which sadly left him with spinal injuries affecting his back legs, and then suffering the cruelty of being used as a bait dog. Despite this traumatic past, Buddy was rescued by a dedicated team and has now journeyed across the sea to our care. He bears no grudge and holds nothing but love for humans. His unwavering optimism is a light in our shelter. 💖 A Heart as Big as He Is Buddy is an exceptionally sweet and affectionate dog. Personality: Gentle, calm, and immensely forgiving. He greets every person and every morning with boundless enthusiasm. He loves slow, gentle affection and leaning his large body into you for cuddles. Temperament: Excellent. He is easy to handle and eager to please. Ideal Home: Needs a home that can accommodate his substantial size and his specific physical needs. 🦴 Mobility and Medical Needs Buddy's spinal injuries mean he requires specific considerations: Mobility: While he walks independently, his back legs are weaker. He can manage short walks and needs a secure, safe environment to move around. Ongoing Care: He is currently undergoing fundraising for hydrotherapy and physical rehabilitation to improve his strength and stability. His new family must be committed to continuing his rehabilitation program as recommended by our vets. Space: Given his size (like a Great Dane), he will need a large, secure garden and ample indoor space. A home with few stairs or single-level living would be ideal. 🏡 Could You Be His Forever?
