Canine welfare fund

About us

UK Dog Rescue & Welfare Charity - Saving Dogs. Improving Standards. Supporting Owners.** Canine Welfare Fund is a registered UK charity dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming dogs in need. We specialise in helping dogs who are often overlooked, including those with significant behavioural challenges and complex medical conditions, such as cleft palates. Through dedicated care, tailored rehabilitation and ongoing support, we give every dog the opportunity to build a brighter future. - Specialist Rescue & Rehabilitation Every dog has individual needs, and we believe each deserves the time, understanding and specialist care required to thrive. Whether a dog is facing behavioural difficulties, complex medical needs or a combination of both, we provide tailored support to improve their wellbeing, build confidence and, wherever possible, prepare them for a safe and loving forever home. - Improving Standards Our commitment extends beyond rescue. We strive to improve canine welfare by championing responsible rescue, ethical rehabilitation and thoughtful rehoming. We also work to raise awareness and understanding of dogs with behavioural challenges, medical conditions and additional needs. We believe every dog deserves compassion, individual consideration and the chance to live a fulfilling life. - Supporting Owners We recognise that circumstances can change and that owners may sometimes need help managing their dog's behaviour, care or changing needs. Wherever possible, we offer guidance and support, including helping owners access professional training and behavioural services. By working with owners to find practical solutions, we aim to keep dogs safely in the homes they know and love, while preventing avoidable relinquishment.

Our adoption policy

Dogs Looking For Homes. We have a range of dogs looking for committed, loving and suitable homes. Each dog is an individual, with their own personality, temperament, energy levels and training needs. Finding the right match means understanding what each dog needs and being prepared to offer the time, patience and consistency to help them thrive. Some of our dogs are well socialised and ready to settle into family life, while others may need additional support to build confidence, develop basic obedience or feel comfortable in new environments. For these dogs, ongoing training, a consistent routine and clear boundaries will be key to helping them flourish. Our team is here to offer guidance and help you find a dog that suits your lifestyle, experience and circumstances. We believe successful rehoming is about more than finding a home — it’s about creating the right match for both dog and adopter, giving them the best possible chance of a happy future together. If you’re ready to embrace both the responsibilities and rewards of dog ownership, we’d love to help you find your perfect match.
