I'm looking for a loving family to call my own
Berties life with us began in the most unceremonious way imaginable. One day we were out and about when a car stopped in the road, dumped Bertie out of the door, and drove off. Naturally this resulted in him coming home with us. Bertie has lived at the shelter ever since and you can tell it's getting to him. While Bertie gets along with other dogs it is obvious he would prefer a more quiet life, ideally as an only dog (though not a strict requirement). At the shelter where attention and cuddles are a limited resource, Bertie gets quite stressed and jealous having to share the limited human interactions with the other dogs in his enclosure. Generally Bertie gets along with other dogs – happily plays with them and is not one to get into a fight. Therefore with the right management, he could live with others. To us it simply is important to provide him with a home where he finally gets all the attention he so needs and deserves, as well as for him to opt out and retreat to his own space anytime. Bertie is a growly boy. Happy? Growling. Upset? Growling. Excited? Growling. This doesn't escalate into any aggressive behaviour at all – it's just how he communicates and something to be aware of in order to understand our weird growly boy. Walks are fun for Bertie. Since he doesn't get to go out often he of course is a bit excited on the leash. However, with some training and routine this shouldn't be an issue.
