I'm looking for a loving family to call my own
5 year-old Babar’s happy ending is waiting to be written, by YOU! When we first met him on our visit to Happy Tails Shelter in 2025, we realised sweet Babar’s beautiful potential had been hidden under a bushel for far too long. His story reads like so many others - a village stray who was brought to the shelter after being injured in a car accident. Barbar’s paw was broken and he still walks with significant limp but his beautiful nature and zest for life inspired us to put him top of our long list of dogs to help. This year when we visited the shelter again, we groomed and cut off Barbar’s matts. He sat patiently and then celebrated by rolling in the dust 😄. On the last day of our visit, we let Babar out of his pen into our working area where he mixed brilliantly with dogs he had never met before. Most strikingly, he made a point of approaching each one of us individually, with a wonky play bow and a beg for affection. Babar then sealed the deal by coming to sit with us for photos, before doing a victory lap to see all the dogs in the surrounding pens. It truly felt like he was thanking us for giving him a precious day out with lots of rubs! Able to live with other dogs, cats and children aged 10 and above. Castrated, fully vaccinated and tested for blood borne diseases before travel, please message us if you'd like to adopt Babar.
